Goudey’s 889 is a fast dry, one-component, nitrocellulose-based white undercoat formulated to use as a general-purpose primer underneath of all Goudey pre-catalyzed and post-catalyzed lacquer topcoats for interior wood surfaces. This product has excellent adhesion to many wood species and exhibits outstanding holdout properties on porous woods. It sands properly providing an excellent base to achieve a smooth surface after top-coating.
